Jessica + Adam 10.16.10 The Stables in LaFollette, TN – Knoxville Wedding Photography

November 7, 2010

Jessica & Adam were married at The Stables in LaFollette, TN.  With their friends, family, and 5 year old daughter as the flower girl, Jessica and Adam said “I do” under a beautiful stone trellis as a waterfall trickled behind them.  It was such a gorgeous fall day!  Loads of sunshine and bright blue skies…the perfect weather to vow forever ❤ ❤

I loved Jessica’s choice of flowers and OH THOSE SHOES!! I kept telling her that if those sassy heels end up missing, don’t come looking for me!  (And they were my size too…just a testament to my willpower and general distaste of theft)  =0)

After a precious ceremony, photos, and a yummy dinner courtesy of Ramsey’s catering, the couple ran through sparklers and took a few minutes to ooh and ahh at the fireworks that graced the southern sky in their honor.  What a send-off!

Jessica was kind enough to share her thoughts about planning and vendors with me so I could pass her knowledge on to you!  Enjoy!

"I would have to say the budget was best spent on the photographer (of course!) and the cement pillars that we stood in front of for the ceremony. We purchased those in Corbin, KY and had them shipped in and assembled at the location because they weighed around 5,000 pounds!"

"My most memorable moment was definitely seeing the smile on Adam's face when I stepped outside..It made all those nervous butterflies in my stomach go away, and I just couldn't wait to get down the aisle to him."

Thanks, Jessica!  Here is some additional advice from today’s beautiful bride:

Your favorite and least favorite part of planning? “My favorite part of planning would have to be the planning itself..I liked being able to see the results from all the hard work! My least favorite part would have to be all the stress, it can make you crazy!!”

What you would change, if anything? “I would have used a different florist!!  Although everything turned out beautiful, he was very unprofessional and unorganized!!  Also, I would have changed the position of the sun, lol..It was brutal!!”

Any advice for future brides? “My advice for future brides would be to slow down and just enjoy the whole experience!  Also, don’t let the little things get you stressed out because in the end it will all turn out great!”

Heather + Michael ~ Knoxville Wedding Photography

September 2, 2010

Heather and Michael were married June 20th on the Clinch River at Flatwater Grill in Oak Ridge, TN.  As usual for a June wedding in Knoxville, it was a smoking hot day and I think I lost about 5 pounds just sweating.  I can only imagine what the guys were feeling in those tuxes!

I’ll get right to the photos–such a pretty blue sky that day!

I love the prayer circle!

Again, surrounding the couple in prayer.  Beautiful.

Flatwater Grill has excellent food and a gorgeous location with indoor and outdoor event facilities.

Great centerpiece idea!  3 Engagement photos in a tri-fold frame with a candle inside to illuminate them.  Pretty!

Michael may or may not be a sports fan…

…and a closet Backstreet Boys fan.

Stephanie & Spencer ~ 5.15.10 ~ Knoxville Wedding Photography

June 7, 2010

The weather was perfect for Stephanie and Spencer’s wedding and reception at Salem Baptist Church in Halls. The bride & groom’s session after the reception, however, was a different story! S&S built an extra hour into their day for off-site photos of the two of them (which I LOVE!!). About halfway through our fun, the bottom dropped out!

Luckily, I just happened to have a bright pink umbrella to match Steph’s bouquet in my car. How’s that for a well prepared photographer?

I love a bright pink and orange color scheme. So pretty! And the food and cake looked amazing thanks to B&G All Occasion Catering.

Jen + J.R. ~ Engagement session in the Smokey Mountains

May 18, 2010

I met Jen YEARS AGO when I lived in Murfreeboro. (GO BLUE RAIDERS!) We met again when I shot her sister Julie’s wedding last year. I believe it was Divine blessing that I had the opportunity to photography both of these gorgeous sisters!

Jen and JR are living in Pennsylvania and came down to Knoxville for their engagement session. We had been impatiently waiting for the Cades Cove loop to open for the spring. The morning of our session, it finally opened! I spent the foggy drive to the mountains imagining dew covered fields and old, groovy cabins as backgrounds. Imagine my surprise when I find traffic cones and a crew of orange-vested authority figures at the entrance…oh no! The loop was technically open, but closed to visitors due to a run/walk event.
*Insert video of my happy face deflating like a river tube stabbed by a rogue tree branch*
Boo. Boo Hiss!!!

Fortunately we found a lovely lady at the Townsend Visitors Center who allowed us access to the beautiful field and barn behind the center. She also pointed us in the direction of other picturesque spots nearby. Thanks nice lady!

Can’t wait for Jennifer and JR’s wedding at The Magnolia Manor in June!

Brittany & Darian ~ 3.20.10 ~ LaFollette, TN wedding photography~

March 26, 2010

The first beautiful, warm day of the year—perfect for a wedding! Brittany and Darian were married at Davis Chapel Community Baptist with a reception following at The Stables in LaFollette, TN. The day was like a family reunion since Britt is my second cousin. I remember when she was born…wow I feel old!

Brittany chose spring greens and pinks for her colors. She says picking out the colors and attire for herself and her maids was her favorite part of the wedding planning process. Her gown, the maids dresses and the tuxedoes came from I DO Weddings.

Brittany’s florist was her grandmother, Sheila Goins.

I adore this photo of Darian and his little brother right after the ceremony. The poor boy just cried and cried. It was precious!

The cake was by Joan Hill.

The Stables is an AMAZING event facility in LaFollette! It is decorated in an old west theme.

Brittany and her maids did a choreographed routine for the guests, including the robot!

All hair was done by Elizabeth Shepherd and makeup was by Kim Oakes, both at Villa Salon in Jacksboro, TN.

Catering was by Ramsey’s Catering.

Here are a few things Brittany wanted to share with future brides:

The most memorable moment of your wedding day? “When they announced us Mr. and Mrs. Darian Foust!”

What you would change, if anything? “I wish we would have had a videographer.”
Where your budget was best spent? “The Stables/Catering.”
Any advice for future brides? “Start early! Don’t stress..yeah will stress but it will all be worth it in the end! :)”

Mary Beth & Adam ~ 5.31.09 ~ Oak Ridge, TN

June 11, 2009

I’ve been impatiently waiting months to see Mary Beth and Adam tie the knot! They were married at a private residence in Oak Ridge, just outside of Knoxville. A few weeks before, we shot Mary Beth’s bridal portraits. Now that Adam has seen his beloved in her gown, I can post those too! Here is a small glimpse of their beautiful day.

Allison & Matt ~ 5.16.09 ~ Knoxville, TN

June 8, 2009

It’s just precious to see to two young people so much in love! Miss Alli and Mr. Matt were married May 16th at Salem Baptist Church in Halls. Their reception was held at Holston Hills Country Club. We got some fun outdoor shots on the golf course just before a storm hit, but the rain didn’t dampen the spirits of their guests. Everyone had a great time and danced all night!
Check out the awesome car they took off in…

Mary Beth & Adam’s Engagement Session ~ Downtown Knoxville

April 2, 2009

Mary Beth, Adam and I got to romp around downtown Knoxville for their engagement session. We hit up the Old City, Gay Street and the World’s Fair Park before heading to Market Square for dinner—and everything was CLOSED! Ugh! Gotta get used to a town that shuts down at sunset…
We had a great time with lots of laughs and nice weather though. And afterwards, we stuffed our bellies full of burgers and fries, yum!
I totally stole the “No Kissing Zone” idea from Mike @ Myrick Studios. Gotta give him props.

Thanks, kids! It was fun!
