Jessica & Jeremy ~ Nashville engagement session

July 19, 2010

Jessica & Jeremy will be getting hitched v. soon!  We dodged the rain to get some shots downtown only to be let down when we realized the Southwest Airlines “Nashville” mural had been torn down.  Boo!  =0(

Here are a few of my faves.  Congrats and best of luck J + J!

Morgan’s Bridal Portrait Session at Cedarwood ~ Nashville Wedding Photography

July 19, 2010

Now that the wedding has past, I can post Morgan’s bridal portraits!  We shot her session at Cedarwood in Nashville, the same location as the wedding.  Since I’m so behind on blogging, I’ll get right to the photos and add some comments along the way.

Enjoy!

This is the perfect photographic description of Morgan's life! Air National Guard member, runner, bride and native Tennessean!

I LOVE this old truck at Cedarwood. Such a great "prop!"

Such a cute gal!

The Culiats ~ Knoxville Family Photography

June 7, 2010

The Culiats are some of my most favorite people on earth. And since I don’t get to shoot many family sessions, I jumped at the chance when I got a call from Mrs. C. They have a lovely home in Oak Ridge, so we used their comfy surroundings for our session.

Thanks for letting me photograph you guys! And if you wake up to loud noises in your garage and find one of your KILLER BMW’s missing…it wasn’t me.

=0)

We picked the perfect day when family members from all over the world had just arrived. An extended family shot is a must!!

Jen + J.R. ~ Engagement session in the Smokey Mountains

May 18, 2010

I met Jen YEARS AGO when I lived in Murfreeboro. (GO BLUE RAIDERS!) We met again when I shot her sister Julie’s wedding last year. I believe it was Divine blessing that I had the opportunity to photography both of these gorgeous sisters!

Jen and JR are living in Pennsylvania and came down to Knoxville for their engagement session. We had been impatiently waiting for the Cades Cove loop to open for the spring. The morning of our session, it finally opened! I spent the foggy drive to the mountains imagining dew covered fields and old, groovy cabins as backgrounds. Imagine my surprise when I find traffic cones and a crew of orange-vested authority figures at the entrance…oh no! The loop was technically open, but closed to visitors due to a run/walk event.
*Insert video of my happy face deflating like a river tube stabbed by a rogue tree branch*
Boo. Boo Hiss!!!

Fortunately we found a lovely lady at the Townsend Visitors Center who allowed us access to the beautiful field and barn behind the center. She also pointed us in the direction of other picturesque spots nearby. Thanks nice lady!

Can’t wait for Jennifer and JR’s wedding at The Magnolia Manor in June!

Lindsey + Brandon ~ Knoxville lifestyle photography

May 18, 2010

I know, I know, it’s been forever since I’ve blogged. So for all 3 of you out there who actually look at my blog, here’s an update–and get ready, cause I have about 4 new posts going up today!

Meet Lindsey and Brandon. They were married last year and were ready for a lifestyle / couple’s session. Brandon is a fabulous actor and Lindsey has more medical brains than I could ever hope for. It’s just not fair for one couple to have so much talent!

It was a beautiful, warm spring day in Knoxville so we headed to Norris for some photography fun. It’s no secret that I love lens flare so I played with the sunshine while we had it.
Thanks L + B!

Penny Lane is on the way ~ Maternity Photography in Nashville

April 21, 2010

By far one of my most memorable weddings to shoot was that of Brittany and Mike with little Micah in tow! We are talking a LOST theme, a choreographed hip-hop dance to MC Hammer, and Britt “riding” Mike down the dance line–FAB! Now the happy couple are expecting little Miss Penny Lane very soon. So before my Bahamian vacay, we shot their maternity session in a M’Boro field (big thanks to Kate Crafton for the location!) at sunset.

The light was just yummy and little Micah is just as full of life as he was when I first met him. It is wonderful to be able to follow my couples as they progress through life. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Burkeys!

LaResa & Brandon’s maternity session ~ Nashville, TN

March 3, 2010

LaResa & Brandon are having a girl! Little Miss Kyndal is expected soon. I bet she will be just as photogenic as her mommy and daddy.

Brandon wanted to get a fun, silly shot in there, so here we go…
It looks like they are saying, “Look what we did ya’ll!”

Nico’s 2nd Birthday!

March 3, 2010

This could quite possibly be the most adorable little boy on earth. Look at these big brown eyes and that dimple! When you tell him how cute he is, he says, “Aw, shucks!” Nico is the spitting image of his mommy, Lindsey, who is a friend of mine from back in the Arzelle’s days. We got together at her home outside Nashville just days before Nico turned 2. I’m including an idea for a simple, cute Thank You card.

If you ever need a great place to host a party or event, be sure to contact Lindsey at The Acorn. She’s a fabulous planner!

Wilhoit Family ~ Knoxville, TN family photography

March 2, 2010

There is a new Wilhoit! I had the privilege of photographing this little cutie and his family just before he had surgery.
Big thanks to Kate Crafton Photography for sending them my way.

Connor & Savannah~Knoxville children’s photography

February 9, 2010

These two little monkeys attend Faith Promise Church with me and I didn’t hesitate when I was invited over for a photo play date! Little Savannah wasn’t feeling super well, but she gave me a few smiles as she taught me how to shovel gravel and cheer on the Vols. Connor was full of energy and showed off those baby blues without hesitation! He is destined to be a photographer–he grabbed my camera every chance he got and snapped away!
