Robyn & Jon ~ Engagement Session

June 8, 2009

Jon, a.k.a Schwarzie, and Robyn will be wed in St. Louis this August and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding! We got together for engagement photos just as the sun was setting in Franklin, TN.

Mary Beth & Adam’s Engagement Session ~ Downtown Knoxville

April 2, 2009

Mary Beth, Adam and I got to romp around downtown Knoxville for their engagement session. We hit up the Old City, Gay Street and the World’s Fair Park before heading to Market Square for dinner—and everything was CLOSED! Ugh! Gotta get used to a town that shuts down at sunset…
We had a great time with lots of laughs and nice weather though. And afterwards, we stuffed our bellies full of burgers and fries, yum!
I totally stole the “No Kissing Zone” idea from Mike @ Myrick Studios. Gotta give him props.

Thanks, kids! It was fun!

Thanks so much to everyone who voted and thanks to Ashley’s Bride Guide for such an information filled blog! It is truly one of the best sites for Nashville wedding info.

I feel so special! =0)

Check ABG later in April to see if one of your wedding or engagement photos won the Best Nashville Wedding Photo contest!

Jennifer and Bud (and I) really wanted fall leaf photos so we headed out towards Hendersonville for more engagement photos.  I LOVE the colors!

Jennifer & Bud~ Engagement Photos

October 8, 2008

“OK, gimme a kissy shot!” I’m sure my clients get sick of hearing this, but I guess I’m just a romantic at heart. Enter Jennifer and Bud, who were all about some kissin’ and making me a happy photographer! =0)
Jennifer wins the cutest little grin award while Bud walks away with the most adorable dimples…I guess that’s the least we can give him for taking his football Sunday away! Here are some shots from their engagement session.

Angela & Adam’s engagement session

September 29, 2008

Angela & Adam are one of those fun, down-to-earth couples that just make you smile! Of course, it’s easy to have fun when we have so much in common, like east TN roots, UT football, and a love for cowboy boots.
We had gorgeous weather during our session and a warm sunset on the walking bridge with a cool breeze. And nothing tops off an evening downtown like a yummy ice cream at Mike’s on Broadway!
I can’t wait to shoot their wedding at Hunter Valley Farm. It is bound to be perfect–it’s my blessed birthday weekend!

Emily & T.C.’s engagement session

September 22, 2008

I’m a country girl from East TN, so when Emily said that T.C. wanted some photos with their tractor, I was all about roaming the fields. (Note to self: wear pants and boots next time.) They chose some beautiful spots near Springfield and Orlinda, TN, and the skies were just gorgeous for us. I hope it’s just as picturesque for their wedding in November!

Allison & Matt’s engagement session

September 11, 2008

Whew! The pretty blue eyes on these two!
Meeting Allison & Matt proved it is a small world. Not only did all three of us grow up in Knoxville, but we were all at my cousin’s wedding a few years ago, and they are pals with much of my family–who knew?
We did their engagement session early on Monday to ensure that Allison would make it back to Big Orange country in time for her 5pm class. Despite the heat and the unbearably bright sun, we got some great shots downtown.
(Special thanks to my hubby for filling in as assistant and official “sun-shader!”)

Brittany & Mike & the purple tu-tu

September 11, 2008

The conversation went something like this:
Shanell: Cool. I’ll be in a green Honda Passport.
Brittany: Ok. I’ll be in a purple tu-tu.

What? SCORE! I knew then we would have an awesome time! Enter Brittany & Mike. This rockin’ couple will be married 10/25 and the photo gods smiled on me to be chosen as their photographer. We had a blast and they didn’t mind scaling walls or sharing an elevator with someone’s dinner all over the floor (what WAS that anyway! Ewww!). Thanks for sharing the adventure B&M!
